#4: Water for Elephants

It's everything I wanted in a book. You know how when you're reading, and you know how you want the book to end, but you don't know if it will end that way, because it's keeping you in suspense? But then it does end just the way you want. If that's what you're looking for you should absolutely read this.

Today during GKIN, we were talking about faults in BMI for measuring obesity. As a guy in my class said, if you are pure muscle, you could have very low body fat and still be classified as obese. Holly then said, that although this is true, it is not the case of the obesity epidemic. "When was the last time you went to the grocery store and went Wow! Everyone is so muscular! This is awesome."

what's up with that

why do people keep adding English to their languages on facebook? I don't really understand that function at all. It's not a resume, or an online dating service, and if we're friends on facebook, I'm pretty sure I know you speak English.
In other news, I should probably get rid of netflix...
but if you have netflix, you should watch timer.

#3 Sarah's Key

I finished this one awhile ago, sorry it took so long to post. I didn't like this book so much. mostly because I don't speak french, and already have a favorite holocaust book. However, it was well written, just really really sad, and I think I need a happy book. I have my sights set on Water for Elephants, and we'll see how that goes. Anyways- if you are into period dramas, French, France, The Holocaust or a good read, you should pick this book up. But it's really quite sad and I didn't like the abruptness of the ending.

I mean, truthfully, the meeting did get me pretty pumped about kenya. But I am not happy that I had to miss the good part of wam, I shouldn't have even gone to LCM, because it just puts me in a shitty mood. but i had a legit workout at the gym today, and that was fun. I also read a third book. I need to find a fourth. I learned the spanish word for Fuck, but it's less vile, apparently little kids say it. I think it's caber. yup. and I need to pack for tomorrow whence I go to fredricksburg for less than 24 hours. anyways, I love the two of you that read this. and I especially love when you blog, orrrrr leave comments about how pretty i am. ;)

I can't even joke about this. I think I might be addicted to passion tea. Specifically, Iced, unsweetened, no water. Like. I had to buy a box at target because I am not shameless enough to go to Starbucks every day, nor could my wallet afford that habit, if I'm being honest.

I'm really loving this. I do not understand how the word fuck can't be said on the radio, but you can have songs about the hotel, motel, holiday inn... you know?

anyways. Little Lion Man by Mumford and Sons is pretty great. Someone on Youtube's comments said the singer sounds like Samwise Gamgee, and you know what, I couldn't agree more. and with that, I'm going to read book #3 and maybe watch Love Actually.

#2: American Wife.

I don't usually read books like this. I like books that have wizards and time travel and magical elements, but I'm trying to expand my interests. I heard really good things about American Wife.
This book is distantly distantly based off of Laura Bush's life, and the only thing the book really made me want is to learn more about Laura Bush's actual life. Alice and Charlie Walker are the main characters, and just a forewarning, there's more sex than I was expecting. the book is set into 4 adressess/times in Alice's life, and it's a unique back and forth in time. anyways, if you are into political dramas, think about picking this up.

#1: The Help.

The Help by Kathryn Stockett was really incredible. I think I really enjoyed it because I spent all semester immersed in African American fiction writers. The author is white, but she writes in 3 perspectives, 2 black maids, and a young white woman. The book is written during the era of segregation in the South. The story is really good. It had me on edge at times, but it was one of those books I just didn't want to put down. You should read it. I guess I'm not very good at book reviews yet, but you really should read it.

Time for a change.

I've had this blog since I was 16.  Naturally, I've taken most of my posts offline because I feel like they don't really apply anymore. My address doesn't even apply, but I can't think of a new one. Just to clarify, I'm not in London.
I couldn't really think of a new years resolution this year. last year. But I thought of two today. I want to read at least one new book a week, and write about it, and I want to learn to speak Spanish more fluently. The second one will definitely be accomplished, and hopefully the first one will too. That's what this is for.
